WILLIAM MARTIN FAMILY
William Martin was the
son of Ebenezer
Martin and W. Tabithy Smith. He was probably born in around
1776 and married on June 17, 1808 in Lee, Oneida County, New York
to Tryphena Cogswell. He died on April 1, 1834 in Lee, Oneida
County, New York. Little is known of this family except that William
Martin was a vet of the war of 1812. He served under Capt. Hazel
Lothrop at Floyd, New York and/or Captain Edmund Fuller of Western,
Oneida county, New York in the 157th Regiment of Militia commanded
by Colonel John Westcott of Rome, New York. He was honorably discharged
at Sackett's Harbor in October 1814. He was a private. He was
then marched out in mid-October 1814 and was honorably discharged
at Sackett's Harbor in December 1814. After his death his wife, Tryphena
lived at Princeton, Bureau County, Illinois. They had one known
child:
Eliza Martin was born on April 22, 1822 in Oneida County,
New York and married to Abram Brower. She died December 26, 1896
in Jefferson, Iowa. Abram was born February 1, 1845. They had
one known child:
Jerome Newton Brower was born June 8, 1851 in New York and
died April 28, 1923 in Iowa. He was married to Susan Sinclair
in September 1886. They had one known child:
Elmer Roy Brower was born April 22, 1892 in Glidden, Iowa
and died December 17, 1959. He was married to Anna Neuerburg
on May 29, 1917 and they had two known children:
Irma Brower
Walter Elmer Brower was born March 25, 1920 in Glidden, Carroll
County, Iowa. He married on March 9, 1940 in Scranton, Iowa to
Florence Katherine Nelson. They had two children: James and Nelson
Brower.
