WASHINGTON C. OGDEN is a native of Wabash County, Ind. where he was born January 26, 1845. His father, Elihu Ogden was born in 1801 and his mother, whose maiden name was Sallie Parish was born in 1806. They wre early settlers in Wabash County, having arrived here in 1839. Washington C. received a fair education , and followed farming during his youth. He was married to Susan Werner who was born in 1843. Her parents, David Werner and Margaret Werner, also came to this county in pioneer days. Mr. and Mrs. Ogden are the parents of nine children of whom five survive, vis., William C., Ida I., Burtis, Ora M., and Howe. Mr. Ogden owns the old homestead farm on Eel River near the village of Laketon.
