JAMES MARICLE FAMILY

James Wales Maricle was born March 28, 1871 in Harman, South Dakota and died November 27, 1917 in Browns Valley, Traverse County, Minnesota to Justus Maricle and Lavina Coy. He married to Mary Isabell White who was born June 3, 1874 in Traverse County and died April 10, 1952 in Browns Valley. James died quite young of pneumonia/typhoid fever and it is said that his wife refused to call a doctor in because she didn't believe in them. Mary was quite the artist and there are some wonderful oil paintings of hers that still survive. Not a lot is know about James Maricle but it is known that he was instrumental in putting up the first telephone lines in Browns Valley. He also worked for the drey line delivering water and coal. But most importantly he was a good family man.

James and Mary had three children:

Rosia Lavina Maricle born March 21, 1896 in Browns Valley and married to Lester Clayton Strouse.

Edith Lillian Maricle born September 22, 1899 in Browns Valley and married to Herman Leroy Burnett.

Lester James Maricle born October 27, 1905 in Browns Valley and married to Evelyn Weinkauf.
