I am looking for information on the children of Sarah OLIN
who married Asa
GREEN and Hannah OLIN who married Nathan GREEN. Both of these
families lived in Shaftsbury, Vermont. You have given Sarah Olin
the number 257 and Asa Green the number 263 on the Web page for
John Olin and Sarah Card.
Hannah Olin has the number 255 and Nathan Green has the number
261.
Sarah OLIN, b. 1770, and Hannah OLIN, b. 1773 were the daughters
of John OLIN and Sarah CARD. Their husbands were the children
Samuel GREEN and Hannah WEAVER.
I am a descendant of Robert GREEN, b. abt. 1796, and I am
trying to find his parents. Robert first shows up as in the 1820
census in Shaftsbury, VT.
The families of Nathan and Asa GREEN both have male children
listed in the Shaftsbury census that could be the same age as
Robert. I have been able to find the names of some of these boys,
but not all of them, and I have not been able to link Robert to
a particular family. Robert moved to Oneida Co., NY and then to
Union Co., Ohio, taking his mother, Sarah, with him where they
both died.
I have been able to find a will for Nathan Green, but he does
not name all of his children in that will. Nathan moved to New
York and died in Oneida Co. Nathan's second wife was named Sarah,
or Sally, and of course, Asa's wife was named Sarah. I feel that
Robert could have been the son of Asa and Sarah Olin Green, but
as of yet, I have no proof except for the fact that they are both
listed in the 1820 Shaftsbury census, and Asa is the only Green
in the 1810 census.

Nathan Green (b.
1767) of RI. I am looking for information about an Isaac Peris Green, who
lived in Otsego Co NY, but who
was supposedly from RI. He was born around 1800 and had sons
named Nathan C. (the oldest), Andrew Jackson, Mancer, and Truman.
They all moved to St. Clair Co, MI between 1850 and 1870. I
was just wondering if any of these names sound familiar to any
of you. Thanks. Click here
My Silence Grene was born 1762 in Coventry, KentCo., RI (Coventry
Vital records).
According to "The History of Levi Greene" by
Mary Shaw Green, parents of Silence et al, Timothy Greene and Silence
Rowland, moved to Lanesborough, Berkshire, Ma. ca 1770. In the
book, Miss Green gives Silence Greene as married to a man named
-----MARTIN.
My ancestors, Silence Greene and Samuel Martin, are buried
in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Oxford Co., Ont. Samuel Martin
and family had left the US ca. 1800, taking residence on a land
grant in Oxford Co. His descendants from his son, Earl Martin
to my Mother, Marjorie Martin lived in that area. Manu of Samuel's
descendaants are buried in that rural cemetery.
On Samuel's land petition he states that he came to Canada
from NY with a wife, six sons and three daughters. He, Levi Greene,
Peleg Greene and Huldah Greene's husband are found on the 1790
Census for Albany Co., NY. A DAR lady told me that many Loyalists
from Ma. fled to Albany Co.NY after the Rev War. It appears that
some of Samuel and Silence's children were born near Utica, NY.
(not documented by me).
For years, I have been endeavoring to locate the parents and
exact place of birth of Samuel. I have many suppositions but
no definitive evidence.
