BOLEN FAMILY BIBLE

This scan is of one page of the four pages in the register of the Bible that Harriet (Prest) Bollen, directed to be left to Mary Laura Bollen (Middleton). Harriet identified the Bible as belonging to “Daddy’s” (Harriet’s husband, Marion Ernest Bollen’s) grandfather who was Thomas Bollen. Taking the four pages of the Family Register of the Bible in context it seems more likely that it was the Bible of Liddia (Lydia and Lidia) Potts or her first husband John Kain. Information is recorded about the Kain-Potts, Bollen-Potts and Bollen-Davis marriages.

The last entry is in a different hand writing and looks like the signatrue of James because of the decorative accent under the writing. The entry just above it has a space before Kain ; It could have been a twin of James or James himself may have erased the name and then changed his last name to Cain on the last entry.
